Rear seatbelts

Volkswagen India (A Division of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd.) has announced a voluntary recall action to check and if required, replace the rear seat belts on select Volkswagen models manufactured during a particular period. The Authorized Dealers of Volkswagen India will undertake a proactive campaign and will perform necessary repairs, free of cost. The process will take approximately 3 hours.

How to find out if your car is covered under this?

The procedure is easy. Just enter your car's VIN code which is combination of 17 characters i.e. letters and numbers, in the search box. VIN code is also stamped on the car body, on a plate under the windscreen in the lower left and mentioned in the vehicle’s Registration certificate. By pressing the "Search" button, you can simply check whether any relevant recall is pending for your vehicle.

• Can I use the vehicle until it is repaired?

  Yes, but we urge you to schedule a visit to the workshop to carry out the necessary procedure immediately.

• What exactly has to be repaired in the vehicle?

  The Rear Center seatbelt assembly will be replaced and the rear right and the rear left seatbelts will be checked, upon inspection and if required, those will be replaced too.

• How long does the repair take?

  The actual repair will take approximately upto 3 hour. Any other additional work requested, will require additional time. However, the total time taken for delivery of your car post repairs, may depend on the schedule availability at the dealership. The respective dealership will provide you an estimated time accordingly.

• Does this repair has any effect on the performance of the vehicle?

  No, the performance of the car remains unaffeected with the repair.

• What will be the cost of this repair work?

  This particular repair work will be carried out completely free of cost for the customers. In case of any extra work requested or required to be done in your vehicle during the visit, will be chargeable.

• Can i have the inspection/repair carried out at any Volkswagen authorised dealer network?

  All the authorized dealers in our network are equipped to perform the necessary inspection and repairs.

• Do I need to schedule an appointment?

  In order to ensure timely response and quick delivery of your vehicle, its recommended to take a prior appointment with your nearest authorized dealer.
