Replacement of TAKATA Driver's Side Airbag

Volkswagen India has announced a recall for replacement of driver side airbag on VW Models (Polo, Vento, Passat, Caravelle, Multivan and Transporter), manufactured between 2007 and 2014, that are equipped with airbag of the TAKATA make. The Authorized Dealers of Volkswagen India will undertake proactive campaign and will perform necessary replacements.

How to find out if my car is affected?

The procedure is easy. Just enter your car's VIN in the search box. VIN code is the vehicle identification number, which is stamped on the car body and stated in the vehicle technical certificate. It consists of a combination of 17 letters and numbers. By pressing the "Search" button you can simply check whether there is a relevant recall for your vehicle in the database.
